Great writing! I could feel the emotions of the story, how farrah's momis a pain in the ass and her love for michael. Good rewrite.
Just want you to know, that not everything your writing is historically correct, especially if it's civil rights time.
By the way when you added the N-word, I almost flipped, beimg black and all.

Wow this is very interesting. The idea of the impossible love due to the skin color is great... I think you can come up with a very good story, just keep it this way. It's a delicate topic so please... I suggest you to take it slowly, let their love grow without hurry! :)
