Lol, couldn't even hold it in!!!! The kids are young right now so as for the meeting going bad probably wasn't going to happen. They don't really understand Mike's and Dawn's 'relationship and what happened between them. Now, the feelings here are very one sided especially because all you know is that Mike having the feelings. Dawn never said things like Mike has said its clear she doesn't feel the same or does she but being guarded. All we can say about this is that Mike is getting a good dose of his own damn medicine (one-sided feelings). That's exactly how Dawn was five years ago, right?

I don't really think it was all that necessary for Michael to tell Kyan ahead of time about his sister. He's still young and the concept of why he should have would be lost. He had to meet her anyway and her coming was a spur of the moment thing.
It's very understandable it slipped his mind to tell them. Dawn is a grown up she shouldn't feel any awkwardness towards a child. Well at least I don't think she should have. Her and Michael aren't dating so it should have been fine if he did forget to give her the heads up. It would have been courteous but not obligatory.
So the Sparks between them seem very one sided. Dawn doesn't seem to have the same feelings of longing as Michael does. Maybe she's being guarded?
We'll see.

Even though it wasn't necessary nor obligatory to tell them about Giuliana coming over, although it was said and done last minute, he just felt he should tell them. Not only that, that's his daughter which is Kyan's little sister so they might as well meet instead of holding it off til next time. And you are right, it's fine whether or not it slipped his mind, but Mike in this story thinks otherwise, lol.
Dawn, I don't think she felt awkward towards his daughter just caught off guard at her entrance From previous chapter. But I mean, the man was married, always wanted kids so it was obvious he'd have a child with his then wife.

Ain't no "mind slippin" when you're a perfectionist damnit. He doesn't get to slide. He knows he's trifling as hell for that so it couldn't possibly had been love from his side. If he believed it was love making they were doing at that time, why not confess the love you were so called afraid to acknowledge at the time? He wanted to be just friends but he loved her as well but didn't want to mess that up (their friendship). Well, he messed up both of those.
An as for the engagement, I agree with you on that too. If he loved Dawn around that time, he would haves called off his engagement to Geena and marry the woman his heart desired to be with but apparently that didn't happen. Girl, this is just a family reunion affair mess. Not only does Ky meets his father but he has to meet his baby sister as well all in the same day. Mike could have at least pulled dawn to the side and told her that his daughter would be coming. Maybe it slipped his.mind. everyone is gonna have their own option on that. But he couldn't stop his daughter from coming even though it may ruin his time with Kyan because of Geena and her cancer.
We're just gonna let him believethat he was making love to Dawn when clearly she told him to his face that they weren't and were just fucking. She was speaking the truth though. Soooo....:/ Michael has alot of learning to do hopefully he does get the chance to.

Payback or not he know he wrong for that because he knows that will directly affect his SON that he wanted to spend time with so badly. What if he reacts badly? Does Michael care just because he wanted to get back at Dawn? Thats petty.
Hiding a child is pretty messed up on both parts. But he didn't need a reason to do so. Dawnette, however did. She has much better reasoning to me because she was hurt. Betrayed to the furthest extent because while he's lying to himself about making love to her, he was secretly engaged. You can't get lower than that because she didn't do anything to deserve that. Now Michael has a reason to be upset about his hidden first born but that he knows he can get over. He can't get mad at her being hurt, distant, or angry because that's bullshit. You can't burn someone in oil and get mad because they are still smoking after they get a water bottle.
I love this story because I don't have to see Michael as the good guy but someone else can. You're doing a great job keeping things open.

Michael is seriously on some other ish right about now. He's practically the antagonist of this story to most of the reviewers. Even if it was payback, it wasn't gonna change a thing of what Dawn did. Besides, it will just make things even more worst than they already are. They don't need anymore of that.
Dawn did mess up when she did what she did but she explained to him her reason why she did it.It wasn't because she didn't want Mike to see or know his son but for his safety as a married man. Yes she was hurt but it wasn't because of that either. She ran away hurt and betrayed before finding out pregnancy of Ky.
Now, Michael knows darn well that he was not making love to her then. If so, then he would have told her he loved her and that he felt the same way as she. He is so backwards that it pisses me off and I'm the writer, lol.
And thanks for reading I'm so happy you enjoy this story. And you're right. It is good to see a story with Mike as the bad person for once. That's why I created this.

How does this take them back to square one? I don't think they should be back to square one at all. Yes Michael should have mentioned that his daughter was coming and it was a necessity being her other parent is incapacitated. I'm sure Dawn would have or should understood that had Michael told her but that in no way should zero anything that happened with them. Everything having to do with Ky is all on the table. There is no going back now.
Michael is back in his wishy washy feels. He stated he didn't love Dawn when they where fooling around. Not in a way that would constitute what they where doing as love making. He wasn't in love with her according to his own words to her. She would know no better than to call it fucking.
Also if the goal was to just have them bond why didn't she just leave after they told Kyan the reason he was there. She wasn't really thinking of Ky in her being standoffish. He wants his Mom to have fun with him. They are family on a level certainly the bond they share will be as long as they live.
They both need to get it together at least for Kyan's sake. Any resentment he will have would most likely come from a strained and awkward relationship between his parents.

Im certain Dawn will understand the situation as to why his daughter showed up soon as he tells her but i dont think being upset is part of it.
Michael and his feelings. He's very conflicted as you can obviously see. He claims to be 'in love' with her. Maybe he is. He did say so in previous chapters. He's definetly not showing it though but he's definitely saying it. Just not to Dawn of course.
And you have a great point. If she wanted just for them to bond, she would have just dropped Ky off after meeting his father then leave. There could be a reason why she stayed, or maybe not. But she could have at least joined them considering Kyan had both parents to bond with him as a family. Yes, she was selfish for that a lot.
Amen to that. They do need to get it together for the sake of Kyan. They also need to work on them as well if they want to have a stable co-parenting relationship because kids are smart and will ask tons of questions when they sense awkwardness between the parents.

I don't think they had to be in a solid relationship to be a family, but they had to have some form of communication/a foundation of trust. I don't quite get where Michael was going with that or where that was coming from.
It didn't make sense (Michael contradicting himself); I don't get why he asked Dawn why she didn't join him. It seemed fairly obvious; I just don't get why she observed the whole time. It was sort of like she was babysitting them.
This is one of my favorite current stories on MJF, yet I had trouble tracking some of this chapter. If you have any question as to what I mean, feel free to email me. That's not to say I don't still love the concept or the plotline (I do). I just had to reread it several times, which made it harder to get into. <3

Michael and this family thing. Yeah, I know it came out of the blue. As he says in his eyes, they are a family and he felt that Dawn should have joined them instead of watching to make it feel as such. But of course, Dawn disagreed.

Michael is out of line with his family bullshit. Dude lost the right to call Dawn family a long time ago. If that's what he wanted he should have put a ring on her finger instead of marrying some gold digger.
Dawn was wrong to not tell Mike about their son but Mike could have cleared the day just for Kyan without having his other kid around. I mean, its the first time he meets him you would think he would focus on him a bit. And hows Kyan going to feel finding out he has a sibling who Michael was around to raise in such an abrupt manner? My guess is a bit hurt. If Mike can stick around for Guiliana why not him?

Amen to that girl. A family consists of two people in a romantic relationship with children in the mix. That what he and Dawnette has is not. It's just simply co-parenting.
Now, as fir him.it telling Dawn about his daughter showing up, it may cause some conflict or maybe not. But it will be much harder for Ky now because he just met his.father now he has to meet his half sister.
But.... You can't really be mad at the fact that his daughter is showing up. Her mother has cancer and is having problems so she had to go to the hospital, also, not having any family.living close by in their area so Michael was her only option. Just think about that.

It really was a stupid move. All he had to do was inform Dawn about his daughter showing u due to her staying for a couple days because of her mother having health issues.
