I read ‘Behind the Mask’ during a very busy hour in my life and I still found it undownable. I pine for heroines that can resist the superstar charm of ‘The Great Michael Jackson’ and after reading about Anouk I was smiling with surprise. With this story of ‘femalien’ I don’t ever get a huge background dump with any of the characters POV’s instead their lives, secrets and issues are gradually introduced, which I loved. I highly recommend this one even for those non- mjfanfiction readers. I think they’ll be surprised. Spoilers: Anouk is on the run from her past and from Michael on to a secluded place where she lives and works, avoiding any personal ties from him. What she hadn’t counted on was him being drawn into her life and literally following her to the place where she calls home. Slowly Anouk is letting her guard down, growing attached and falling in love, allowing herself to dream of a future with a famous man that won’t hurt her....and so the story goes...and the twists...and yes of course before I forgot - 'The Romance'...can’t ask for more...
An absolute must read for 'femalien' fans

I hope Michael's smart enough to kick Lisa's desperate thirsty ass to the curb. All she's going to bring him is more hurt and pain. That relationship is never going to make him happy. It's just going to waste his time and prevent him from meeting someone new. And if he gets back with her, even temporarily, there's no way Anouk and him will ever work out. Anouk has had a hard enough time trusting him, if he gets with Lisa so soon after saying all these things to her she isn't going to believe another word out of his mouth. I wouldn't either. He needs to remember that Anouk never said she didn't return his feelings. Everything she said is based on the fact that she can't get past her own pain. She's afraid. He did the right thing by leaving her though. She needs to make the next move.
I love this story so far. I like all your stories they're great. My favorites are Give into me and Ghosts.
