Well Michael brought it on himself. Ki can only take the brunt of his self-loathing for so long. He shall reap what he himself has sewn. He's going to be absolutely miserable without his wife and his kids. And he's gonna realize the mistake he made, and he's gonna have to work his ass off to get her back. But for now, I think Keisha needs this reprieve to get herself together. She can't be the apologist, the enabler, the whipping dog, and Wonder Woman all the damn time. But what makes her so admirable is that she would be all those things and then some, all in the name of love, for her husband. Those two do love each other, but Michael ain't himself right now. He's running before he feels like he's gonna lose her. He's so used to people walking out on him, like she said by his OWN sword.. It's a damn shame he'd rather hurt himself by purposely pushing his family away because he's so damn afraid of.. Rejection. Not being accepted. Being abandoned. It's tragic as hell. Bu Keisha knows he's not himself, and she's angry. And she has a right to be.
Michael is making his bed hard. Very, very hard. He needs that woman and is doing none of them any favors. But let Ki and her babies go on down to NOLA.

Alright, he's lost i! From losing control to that mini attempt at suicide... to him wanting a seperation... things are getting worse and worse. Does he really think isolating himself himself from his family would be the best decision?? This self destruction has got to stop!
I know that he's going through a tough time and the allegation is a tough pill to swallow but he needs to get a hold of himslf. Ugh this is so depressing. :(((

I won't ready for all this. I mean DAMN...I was already on the edge of my seat when he was standing over her with a knife...then he slaps her...THEN he tells her to leave? By the end of the chapter I fell off the couch. Things went haywire! I was surprised at his behavior...at Keisha as well. I was not expecting all this.
He needs help. And Keisha needs to get herself together. They are both some mixed up nuts right now. Michael needs to get clean and poor Keisha needs to go get her head back. Michael was so right though when he said she enables him...I know so many woman who are like this...this is why I love her character so much. She is so REAL. As a wife she feels the need to pacify him but in the long run she is hurting him and herself. She needs to pop the boob out of his mouth and stop baby-ing him.
This hurt my heart though...Michael really reached a boiling point in this. I mean he lost it. But how much can a person take before snapping like he did? I kind of saw this coming. I know he didn't mean the last thing he said. He loves Keisha and his kids with his entire being. He thinks he's damaged goods. But your not baby!
I believe in this couple and I know they'll be able to withstand the storm. I think they both may need time apart though. Because a lot of sh!t just transpired between them...cool down time...
This hurt my feelings though. I could have cried lol. But I know this beautiful near perfect marriage was not always gonna stay "perfect" so to speak...every marriage has to face its demons. But Whhhheeeewwwwe!
My nerves were a bit shot to shingles while reading this but I'm ok now lol.
This was so beautifully written that I swear I was there watching all of this unfold before my eyes. I was hiding in the corner of their bedroom while this transpired lol. I felt Keisha's pain and betrayal when Michael slapped her after he promised to never do so...I felt michaels pinned up frustration with Keisha as she continued to baby him up through some 50 shades of grey kinda sex. I felt it all.
Ok lemme stop now. This was a wonderful read as usual!
And awesome an English major? Miss lady, I know you will flourish in whatever writing you pursue because you have such a God given talent! Thank you for taking the time to share your gift with us, we all appreciate it immensely :)

What ever you decide to go with, just know you have a faithful reader on your hands. I will say this though, I absolutely adore the Keisha character. She is everything I imagine a woman should be; like you said, if Michael had someone like her in his life, I also truly believe his life would have been spared. As long as she is in the mix, I know I will be hooked.

He is really wounded. He's completely giving up. He is running, he is dejected, he is rejected.. I just can't. But it's ok. Keisha just needs to pack her stuff and leave for awhile. Michael is clearly not himself right now and being a Stepford wife is NOT her style. She cannot sit there and act like this shit is ok. Michael needs help that she simply cannot provide. He has to find himself again and when he does, he better hope he hasn't lost her for good. A pure mess chile. Smh. He thinks he's saving her and the kids but he's only killing himself more. Keisha and their kids are the best things that have ever happened to him, but when you're as far gone as he is right now.. None of that matters. He's battling addiction, on top of a fucking witch hunt. Lord help him. Ki just needs to go. Maybe taking a break from him will actually be beneficial to her in some way. She can regroup and gain her strength back, and when the time comes for them to reunite, she will be mentally and emotionally ready. But Michael has to get it together. Seriously. This self loathing, using, etc is NOT healthy at all. It's not good for him or anyone around him.

I hate to use the cliche, "Cruel To Be Kind" but that's kind of what's happening here, isn't it? I hate that Michael took the Edward Cullen Route, but sometimes necessary evils are the only path, and only you can know if the ends justify the means in the end.
I really hope that this doesn't turn people off Michael, because I really like how well-rounded he is as a character overall. LOL.

Damn. I was hoping this was a bad dream because this whole chapter was so crazy! Man I can't believe Mike would say that to her smh. It is clear as day that he isn't in his right state of mind though so I hope Keisha doesn't call his bluff. He is at his lowest and I hope she sticks it out with him because he needs her, regardless of what he's saying.

I love Keisha's story but I think I would like to see you develop Family Values around a different character. It would just be interesting to read something different from you. Plus I'm so used to Keisha belonging to MJ that it would be weird to see her involved with another man lol. This is the most depressing chapter I have ever read.
Kiesha had better not listen and leave him now. Obviously he is in the wrong but she shouldn't let his hurtful words and actions obscure what's really going on here. He needs serious help and he can't do it alone. They can worry about their relationship later, but she needs to put her pride and hurt feelings aside and get him some help. Stage an intervention, get him into rehab. Hell, club him over the head with a bat and drag him there if she has to. Just DO SOMETHING. She could have the support of her entire family and friends if she was willing to ask for it. Because it's a matter of life and death for him. I really do believe he will die if she listens and goes back to New Orleans. And who else is going to help him? His family of leeches including his mother, sure ain't gonna do shit but exploit him for profit. Same for all the employees, managers, lawyers, etc. No no no, if she leaves it is the equivalent of throwing him to the sharks, and it won't be long until she's attending his funeral.
Girl I sure hope this story has a happy ending. These two are one of my all-time favorite couples on this site and I'm so attached to them I think I would actually cry if they idn't end up making it through.

Can I just say this chapter was like reading a death sentence, made out specifically to me.
It was utterly painful.
Gawd. Michael Jackson is one fucked up individual, and yes I understand the circumstances, but damn man. You gon do Keisha like that? Certain words spoken can never be taken back, to tell your wife you don't want her anymore, to tell her to leave, that's a little much, even if it means it's cuz you're trying not to hurt her.
I am really surprised at him.

Keisha one minute lets him take his fury out on her body telling him that they are one, and then the next she is as snappy as a gator and poisonous as venom. She flips on him quicker than a switch. Like WOMAN WHAT DO YOU WANT?
Michael blows everything WAAAAAAAAY out of proportion. There is no need to break your wife's heart and fuck up your whole family over this. Imagine the amount of pain his children will go through, that Keisha will go through, that he himself will go through.
I mean lord. You're throwing away the only good and steady thing in your life. You need them, specially since these allegations are gonna mar the face of the rest of your career anyway.
Let time heal you instead of making rash rash decisions.
Anyway, sorry for my rant, but I just had to say something.

I LOVE this kind of reaction. Michael's issue is that he's trying to be a hero all the time, despite the fact that he makes the wrong decisions...and Keisha's issue is that she's a pacifist and fixer, and she makes the wrong decisions.
they're both wrong, but for different reasons.
