Awww they talked it over. It's about time lol. I'm glad that Raine took her mother's advice because it takes two to tango and the both of them were wrong so it's good that Raine opened her eyes to see things from Michael's point of view. The interation with Raine and Michael playing cards against her family was adorable. I could imagine Michael asking questions while trying to learn the concept of the game. Anyway this was a cute update.

Michael can't expect her to make a commitment like that yet. At this point I think they need to take it one day at a time. Glad he's still persisting though, she'll give in eventually. She knows damn well that she loves that man to death. And vice versa. They need each other.

And he's a wreck without her isn't he? It sounds like he went through some shit while she was away. Maybe if he tells her more about it she'll understand. She's inferring things about what happened that aren't true due to lack of information. I got the sense from the chapter that he only slept with the skanky chick once and it was during the time where they lost contact, and he regretted it immediately. Who the fuck knows if he was even sober when he did it. Either way it doesn't sound like it's a pleasant memory for him. And she has to give him some credit for being honest with her. 

Will you explain why Raine stopped writing to him? I'm wondering what caused her to drop out of contact.

yes!! dont let him off easy. he fouled up and he dont deserve her..at least not at the moment. 

This is an interesting start. I see Raine is adjusting to the military life although it's coming with it's trials and tribulations. I can't even imagine how she felt after getting shot by a child and then also having to murder a child. 

I like how she and Michael are still staying in touch although the words that they send back and forth to one another aren't many. 

I feel like Bill knows that Michael still has a soft spot for Raine even if he's trying not to show it.

I'm glad you decided to continue this story, it's really good! The way it is written is so realitic and the plot feels like real life. The ending of Army Brat was brilliant but so sad, so I'm glad that we will be able to see these two together again.

Gotta say I'm disappointed in Michael for breaking his promise. I know it isn't very realistic but when the last story ended I was hoping he would keep it. He did say he would wait for her after all, even though she didn't expect him to :( I know she was gone a long time but a promise is a promise.

Raine is a better woman than me. Not saying she shouldn't forgive him, but she didn't even seem to flinch. I don't think I could get over it as fast as she did, especially seeing as she seems to have kept up her end of the deal. When they were talking and he was all like "I'm not sure I loved them because I couldn't stop thinking of you the entire time you were gone." I would have been like "well you obviously weren't thinking of me while fucking them." If he wasn't sure he loved them he really shouldn't have slept with them. Raine even said that in her last letter, if someone replaces her in his heart he had her blessing. It's the fact that it seems like nobody really did, and he still broke the promise that upsets me. 

That's life, I guess. At least he was honest with her upfront. But the hopeless romantic in me wants to kick him.
