Meh. Michael is pissing me off. He really doesn't have much right to be mad at her. He kicked her out when she was pregnant and didn't talk to her for a month (the exact same fucking thing). He needs to remember that he is a big part of the problem.
I'm glad she's back though! I hope he gets over his little tantrum soon and that they BOTH learn to treat each other better.

Michael is being a big baby. Avery is the one who should be trying to forgive Michael. He caused her a crapload of stress. She lost a baby she worked so hard to get. And needed time to herself. All he's thinking about is himself. Not a good look MJ. :) great chapter btw

Thank you for the review and sorry for the late answer :S

Finally, Avery did the right thing. She can't run away every time she has a problem. Right now, Michael and Wynter need her and she'd better be there for them.
Author's Response:
I agree with you. But you'll see through the following chapter that they all need each other ^^

This Melissa Grant lady showing up out of no where taking over Michael's case didn't seem right at all. No way Michael would appreciate her coming in talking to him rudely and telling him how to handle this case espcially with his "do the right thing morals". I get he doesn't want his daughter reading about this on the Internet many years from now when she's a teenager but atleast she'll now he didn't give up without a fight.
Speaking from personal expirence of watching my best friend and my sister fight with their spouses over custody of their kids I can its up to the parent to explain to the children what's going on and why. My best friend did this with her son and he never resented her for being honest about why she was fighting to have full custody of him even when he learned the horrible things his father did to her. Her son was the same age as Wynter in this story when it happened and now he's a very happy teenager who has a great relationship with his stepdad all because she stepped up and was honest with him, the courts and their families.
My sister on the other hand was like Michael in this story and wanted to protect her children and from the truth of what their father was like from them and grew up to believe that their father was this great man who could do nothing wrong. He and his lawyer twisted everything around and made my sister out to be the bad guy. He played dirty very much like India did and won custody of their kids and they resent her for that. They believe she didn't fight hard enough for them that she doesn't care about them at all. She pays child support she can't afford and they never see it because their father spends it on drugs and alcohol but tells them she doesn't love them enough to buy them new clothes or come see them. I believe if she had done differently custody would have been awarded to her and she would have seen her kids more espcially her daughters.
It may hurt Michael to have to put his business out there like that but he should do what he had to do keep Wynter. All he has to do is be honest about India with the courts not the public because that will only hurt his chances of gaining custody. Janet had good intentions with the press conference but it wouldn't help because family court actually frowns on media attention. If the judge picked out for India and Michael's case is true and honest he would let India know that she has crossed the line by airing such dirty laundry about Michael to the media.
I hope Avery's return is a good thing and she's ready to heal with Michael by her side and be the stepmother that Wynter needs her to be.
Author's Response:
Thank you for sharing your story 🙏 .I hope everything will turn out fine for your sister and her children. She deserves to have them with her and I hope that her children eventually see that she did what she thought was the best thing to do.
Michael could learn from your situation! Because I think Wynter is grown enough to see that her Mother doesn't really care for her. She calls her 'India' and I think it's enough to show that she doesn't even consider this woman like her mother. With Michael it's different, he is her father, she loves him and she would want him to use all he has at his disposition to have the sole custody.
I hope Avery came back to be the support Michael needs, the mother figure Wynter needs and that together they can mourn the death of their children.
Thank you for you review and for sharing your experience.
Love you girl <3

YES! Avery is back :). Why is everyone so ridiculously good looking? I need an "average" looking lawyer and some leads who aren't models. Otherwise, I love this story.
Author's Response:
Yay for Avery's return!
I love seeing beautiful people in my story. I plead guilty ^^

Avery is a coward indeed if she does not go to testify for Michael. She deserves to live alone, bitter and unloved if she can't take the guts to do what's right and woman up a bit. It's good she lost the pregnancy, she's not ready to be a mother. She hasn't learned responsibility for others, at the expense of her comfort.

Time for Avery to get her head out of her ass and go back to L.A. I understand her need for space but it isnt the time for that now. Michael and Wynter need her at the trial. Irregardless of what happens to Mavery, that little girl does not deserve to get stuck with India having full custody.
Plus two weeks is way too long for space. I was thinking she would leave for a day or two but she is putting Michael through the exact same thing he put her through. Two wrongs don't make a right.
Author's Response:
She does need to come back to Los Angeles because her problems won't go away. Maybe that worked three years ago in Barbados but not here! And I'm sure Wynter would be happy to see Avery. She needs to come back to support them.
Thank you for your review :DD

I almost asked which Mariah Carey album, then I realized (before reading the song title) that it didn't matter. All would fit being put on repeat in that situation.
You proofread?! OMG.
Avery better get her butt back to LA. She can't keep running away from her problems.
Author's Response:
LOOOOL! Yes, I proofread (Can't say that about the chapter I uploaded two seconds ago lol). Let's see what happens next ;)
Thank you for the review Redone ;D

I am disappointed in Avery and Michael. From my point of view they are both at fault for what their relationship become. She went behind his back to talk to Drew even though it was to help with his custody case it was wrong. She needs to aknowledge it and apologize to him. He was wrong for not letting her explain why she was with Drew and telling her to leave. He also needs aknowledge how wrong he was and apologize. They both let their pride, insecurities, fears get in the way of their relationship. Avery put a lot of stress on herself and that wasn't good for her or her unborn child and as a result she lost it sadly. I don't like the fact that she just left Michael a note telling him she needs time instead of talking to him, it was selfish. Michael invested a lot in this child and he's more than likely hurting too. I get it that she needs time come to terms with losing her child but women often forget that men feel just as much lost and pain as she does when losing their child.
Both of them always want to try and figure things out on their own when their relationship gets too hard or things go wrong. They haven't learned how to work things out together yet and their biggest problem: working together to resolve an issue. This is something they really need to work if they want their relationship to last.
Really they have to ask themselves if their relationship worth fighting for?
Author's Response:
Even if she had good intentions, considering their story, Avery should have thought twice before contacting Drew without asking Michael how he felt about this :/ And you're right, I bet Michael is as depressed as Avery right now and it would help him to have her by his side. It could help her too but she probably believes she can just fix her problems by running away and ignoring them.
Thank you for the review and the rate Vicki! I'm glad to see you back, you know I love your review :D Much Love and happy holidays :)

Fuck I don't blame her. Michael screwed up big time. She basically lost the baby because of all the stress he caused. She was at fault too but not as much. He should have had enough respect for her to at least listen to her explanation.
If I were in her place, I would need to reevaluate whether I wanted to be in a relationship with somebody so unreasonable.
Author's Response:
*Sigh* Communication is something they need to work on ;( But let's see if they can go through this... Thank you for the review and the rate ;D
