Neat so far. :) I like it. Also, I hope that Gerald will get what's coming to him (as do all antagonists in stories), and that Alexis will make the right decision by staying with Michael, too.

While Gerald seems like the kind of man who would hit a woman (probably because he was abused himself in his childhood and was brought up to think that abusing someone is OK when it really isn't), Michael, on the other hand, is really sweet, and can be a warrior when he wants to be. :)
