It had been two weeks since I first started working and Mr. Jackson was being a real douche.“Hello Yahara I don’t want to disturb you but Mr. Jackson wants to know if you signed the paper yet’ Brittney buzzed in for the 5oth time today. “Tell him to kiss my ass!” I yelled in to the phone nearly pulling my hair out. She laughed and asked, “Do you really want me to tell him that?” I exhaled slowly and said, “No just tell him that the form hasn’t been updated but when it has I’ll inform him immediately.” She buzzed out and I nearly screamed. This guy was about to drive me insane with this stupid form. I continued to work and stayed quite busy. “Hello Ms. Haul do we have a problem with the forms?” Ms. Bronze, my boss, asked walking in the door. “No Ms. Bronze why do you ask?” I responded in a professional matter. “Mr. Jackson has informed me that he hasn’t gotten those forms yet and I was wondering if there was a problem.” She said clenching to a folder she held with both hands. “The next time Mr. Jackson sends in a complaint would you be so kind to explain to him that I have to wait until the final results get here. Then I would be more than happy to sign my signature up and down the paper.” I said this trying to stay pleasant but I could tell that Ms. Bronze sensed my irritation. “Well to fix this problem I went down to the lab myself and got the form. I want you to take it to Mr. Jackson personally, and I want you two to resolve your little conflict.” She said this while putting the folder on my desk and I stared at it feeling the urge to rip it up. “Thank you, I’ll be turning this in as soon as I get the chance” I responded with a warm smile but as soon as she left the smile dropped. After finishing up my work I grabbed the folder and headed to Mr. Jackson’s room. Walking into the entrance of his office I was in awe. It was definitely nicer than my office. I walked up to his receptionist who happened to be a 100% more professional than mine. She was an older Spanish lady with a very clean look. “Hello I’m here to see Mr. Jackson about the form signature.” I said as politely as possible. “Yes you can leave it here and I will get it to him as soon as he’s free” the lady said grabbing he folder and turning back to her computer. “Thank you” I said almost relieved that I didn’t have to meet him. Even though in a way I did want to meet him, I mean who wouldn’t want to meet their enemy? I walked back to my office and sat in my chair. I started to sign more papers and put them in a pile when Brittney buzzed in once more. “Um Ms. Haul Mr. Jackson is here to see you” Brittney said trying to sound professional. I paused for a while wondering why he would want to speak with me. I already gave him the forms. “Yea um let him in” I said buzzing out. I continued to read documents and sign my name when the door opened. “Hello Ms. Haul I wanted to apologize for the past few weeks” I heard him say as I finished reading the last line of the document. I looked up and stared in shock. It was my ex boyfriend Michael, my first boyfriend. “Margret?” He said in shock himself, I couldn’t believe he worked in the same building I worked in. “You look the same” he said with a big smile coming around my desk. I got up and gave him a hug which was kind of awkward. He smelled like vanilla just as I remembered, and he looked the same too. His hair was longer and his voice was deeper but not that much deeper. He looked more mature then before, and I have to admit he looked a lot sexier if that was even possible. “You’re the one everyone in the office is talking about? I should have known it was you by all those smart comments” he said stepping back from our hug. I looked at my watch and it read 5:00 which meant it was time for me to go. “Well I gotta get out of here so I guess I’ll see you tomorrow” he said walking towards the door. As he left I couldn’t help but smile to myself. As big as New York is what are the odds of working in the same building with your ex. When I got home I kicked my shoes off and plopped on the couch. Gigi walked in 30 minutes later and plopped down beside me. “So how’s it going with captain douche?” She asked referring to Michael. “I met him today” I said flexing my feet for relief. “Is he hot?” She asked with a smile spreading across her face. “He’s Michael” I responded looking over at her for a reaction. “His name is Michael, cool but is he hot?” She asked getting frustrated. “It’s Michael, from high school” I said getting impatient with her acting ditsy. “Holy shit your first boy friend Michael, the one on the football team?” I nodded yes and looked back up to the ceiling. “So is he hotter?” She asked hesitantly, trying to find out if I still had feelings. “Ugh yeas he’s gorgeous” I said rolling my eyes at my statement. “But it doesn’t matter because I’m not falling for him again.” I said looking over at Gigi with a serious expression; she gave me a side smile which I hated. “Well you can say that but there is always a place left in your heart for a first love Yoyo.” “Not for me, Michael was a mistake. We were too different which caused us to break up” I said disagreeing with her statement. “Look okay save the bull shit for someone who didn’t attend Blake High, you two are perfect for each other. You’ve always been perfect for each other, and now that we’re all grown up he’ll be less immature.” She got up and walked to the kitchen to get something to drink. I went into the bathroom and took a shower. I couldn’t help but think of the old days when m and Michael were together. I hadn’t been that happy in a long time. After my shower I got my clothes on and headed for bed. It was pretty difficult for me to fall asleep because I couldn’t stop thinking about Michael. “Ugh don’t be stupid Yahara you’re not falling for him” I said to myself as I tossed and turned in my sheets. For some reason I actually looked forward to going to work.
