Hi Voice,

Bit late to this, but just finished the chapter (I feel like I read it already but can't remember if I reviewed it, lol!)... It makes me sad in some parts to read through his emotional turmoil of watching the Bashir interview. I know how it made me feel as a fan, but can only imagine what damage trusting someone with months of your life must have been like -- only to humiliate, patronise and ridicule you - all with a smile on their face.

It always reminded me of the line in Money

"Watch the ones, the idle jabbers... they're the backstabbers"

Author's Response:

Skyyy!! You commented yet again what a treat!!!

I believe you did already however aditional thoughts are more than welcomed!!

It was suh a hard thing to remembber when it comes to the bashir interview, it's such a double edged sword, part of it is enjoyed and part of it is understanding what a snake Bashir had been.  That s so veery true having Month of your life undr a microscope, not only his but the children's lives as well beig exploited due to that mans malcious intent.  Truly saddening.

That line int he song I'll forever pair with that interview now that you said it.  It rings truth.  Its much more painful, the betrayal is stronger and devestating especially if those who seek harm try and wait, sit back, calculate their time before showing their true colors.

I hope you stay around for the nexr chater im tryng to push out tonight, im spell checking and getting my grammar together so I hope you can enjoy it!! I always look so very much to your perspective!! :) :) Thank you Sky <3!!

I bet the stateliness of his presence came at a surprise. I'm not sure what she expected exactly to encounter with Michael but true to life as people always expect him to seem flimsy or contrived, most are shocked by the reality that his aura did indeed have its own presence in a room. In fact it often preceded him before he would enter a room.

Though thin at times people are always thrown at just how tall he was and the sheer intensity of his gaze. I can't wait for her to witness that smile. My my. It's going to be a thing of beauty.

Now I would love to hear Michael's perspective and just what he thought of Ms Hall. He threw up one hell of a wall with that mask.

More soon! <333

Author's Response:

Tut, Hello!! :) :) :)

Glad you came back to review! *happy* Yes your very right there are only a few people in the world with a presence like that, and its safe to say without giving much away that Jenna has never come accross an energy like that.  That is the very thing she was so nervous because she didn't at all know what to expect, ther has been so many different media accounts and no one really knows the truth, so now she gets to experience it for herself!  Yes! I enjoy the way you placed that, "have its on presence" and it's just his very own, strip the persona, the muscical inclination, it's tuely his own energy which can be shocking within itself there is a very important reason why I stated this as a prominent piece of the story! :)

Yes, I have heard such things, theres such a mystic veil when it comes to him, i've heard accounts of how they were shocked at those two things, height and weight, but they never claimed it looked out of place, it was everything that made up the experience.

That is going to be next, his perspective!  I think you'll be interested to her what he truly thought!  I am so glad you caught that about the mask yes, that was my intention entirely!  Love your commnt Tut, thank you so much for gracing me with what you thought!  Next chapter coming very soon!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

I read this chapter a few days ago and I loved it but I felt anxious for Michael to meet Jenna. I love your descriptiveness, you have a lovely way of being able to verbalise the pain that I can only imagine he must have been feeling.

Love your work, Voice! <3

Author's Response:

Sky *smiles*!! I was hoping you'd comment soon I was curious to hear your thoughts!!

I'm glad you loved it and were able to appreciate the slow build and the anxiousness, lts me know I think I did my job correctly lol!!  Wow thank you for enjoying my obsess iwith detal and description *blush* I appreciate it!! It's definately emotionally painful to step into his shoes and imagine what that miserable situation would have been like.  Amazing it didn't completely break the spitrit you know??

I really hope you keep reading Sky :) :)!!  stay tuned!

Don't watch Scandal after season 1, it turns into a soap opera and takes away frok what it is that olivia pope does for people. The difference between her and jenna is that Olivia is a 'fixer' a professional one really, she acts as a sort of publicist/lawyer in the sense that she tells her clients how to present themselves to fix their reputation, fix any fuck-ups she made, and in order for her job to work they HAVE to take her directions. They have to listen to her otherwise she WILL drop them as a client. Lawyers will do the same, good ones don't take clients that won't listen to them as to how to present themselves in court, how to help the lawyer in question fix the legal problem at hand. Olivia Pope only took high profile clients who get a lot of publicity and media attention she also does know how to fuck with the legal system to help her clients out. I honestly don't see Olivia if she was in Jenna's place taking this job just because Michael is used to being told what he wants to hear not what he should hear and isn't used to being told no. My point is if he is serious about salvaging his reputation he needs to present himself better and not just give off another Bashir type representation of himself. You kniw what i mean? I always felt like he put on somewhat of an act in front of the cameras, the innocent childlike quality. Say what you what about Lisa Marie but i really do think she was right in saying that the person who he shows the world is completely different than the person he actually is. He is extremely intelligent, compassionate, empathetic, kind towards others especially those less fortunate like the homeless, and sick children. More of that needs to be shown not oh this another rich, spoiled bratty arrogant egotistic celebrity. Jenna i feel should be more critical of his past publicity nightmares, the baby dangling incident, the sleepovers which in my opinion were a bit ambigious in order to do her job correctly she has to guide him to be himself and present himself better. Just get him more relaxed but also aware that people will read what she writes and see assumedly what she may film. If youre going to say why you let kids sleep over explain that theyre sick kids who have spent much of their lives in hospitaks and this is a much needed break for them. When you watch Olivia Pope approach her clients you'll notice that she indeed means buisness and this wont be made personal she will kick you ass if you don't listen to her as that makes her job difficult. She has this confidence to how she approaches problems that I feel Jenna needs desperately. I get being nervous about the undertaking of this project but i expected her to be much more sure of herself and of who she is when meeting Michael. I feel like he's not going to just accept her help easily at all. She will have to work for it and potentionally lay down an ultimatum that he can either listen to her and let her help or he can figure it out on his own. I love that you brought up the 'aura' surrounding Michael, personally i always thought that was bullshit just because he is NOT a god he's just human but how you described as being able to feel his obvious presence makes sense. Ive heard that described about Charles Dance who plays tywin lannister in game of thrones. He's at least 6'2 but because of his immense acting talent and such the air/atomsphere of a room changes when he walks in and i think thats what youre trying to describe with Michael just sitting there in a t-shirt and slacks. Im taller than he is, being that im 5'11 so its near impossible for anyone shorter than i am to really intimidate me but i feel like he might a little bit just with that presence you described so accurately. Love that he bowed. Did not expect that. I also loved how you had him shock Jenna by how deep and resonating his voice is in person. Ive read from an artist who did the portraits of him that were displayed at Neverland that his eyes are otherworldly, you can see for miles by looking at them, theu are a work of art in of themselves. His stare being intense enough to leave an icy chill down her spine yea i see that happening. ;) why the hell is he wearing a silk mask during a professional interview? he usually covers up his eyes so no one can read him so maybe be wants her to? No i watched the Bashir documentary as i had not seen it before and wanted to see why this was the catalyst to the 2nd set of allegations. Another suggestion, she needs to make it clear she is NOT going to take shit from him just because he's him. She needs to be more assertive in how she wants this to go as it is in her control as it's her job to present him in a better light to fix his reputation and image. Just my thoughts. Felt like writing a long one. Love where youre going with this and again keep up the good work! 😘😘

Author's Response:

Fire!!!!!!!!!!!  I am glad that you made such a huge contribution as far as commening!  I'm very humbled thank you!! *beams* I havent yet to watch Scandal due to working however coming up this weekend I will do to which youhave instructed lol I am interested to watch the way she interacts.  I can understand your comparison to Jenna and Oliva especially both having come from backgrounds within the media, and Oliva being a little more "I play no games" with her mentality however I think yo'll come to realize because of Jenna's life, shes got a bigger heart than most in the media.  being judgemental is her slight downfall and you'll see more of her personality in the coming chapters that yes she is critical of hose things but she knos (since working in the media) how media can twist things so she isn't at all sure what to even think abouut Michael lol.  It's like a doctor coming to chek out a rare breed of a Horse that turns out to be a unicorn lol.

You are very right about him holding everything within and it taking a while for him to be able to reach out.  the filming procss is one I will enjoy writing becase that is truely when the heat is put on, he can't run from it either, honesty is the best policy.  I think this story is going to show the good and bad effects of what a life le this can do to someone and how being brought into such a stressful world can break two people all at once.  it quiickly becomes overwhelming.  and your vry right hes not going to accept her help very easily at all, hes very guarded and terrified hes getting into Bashir part 2.

I LOVE how honest you are when it comes to the perception that people have when it comes to his "Aura".  I am glad you think I described that so accurately, Thank you so much Fire!! Tis is why I love you comments they are full of very honest critisisms, ideas, suggestions and thoughts!  But back to topic, I really go believe that presences, aurasthat someone has can really caauses peoples energies to pay attention.  It can be overwhelming if youve never experienced such an energy (in Jenna's case).

And you asked about the mask?  Its a shield, and ontop of it, I'm sure he's trying to keep his new guest from coming down with any ailments, but it's mostly the shield, it kees those unwelcomed from seeing him fully.  Wih no sunglasses yes, it's an invitation that he's not completely guarded toward her, he somewhat trusts her because shes his teams selection lol.  so it's a bit of a vulnerbility based on what you mentioned as far as keeping the eyes guarded. I think later in the story you'll love the amount of assertiveness she places against Michael.  She challenges him in the best way.

I;m glad you decided to write a long one!  :) :) Thank you so much for commenting Fire, I always enjoy it!! I hope you'll be along for the ride for the next chapter coming up in a day or two!! :)

Haha I totally related to Jenna in the airport smelling all the food and having to keep going to the gate. I swear that happens to me everytime. Never fails. :P

When I read this, I had to focus really hard cause of all the descriptions. And I don't mean that in a negative way...i'm inspired to add more of that kinda thing to my own story, but shit it takes so much energy, i'd be exhausted by the end !

I tried reading this while listening to music and my mind was like @___@. It reminds me of an actual novel. Which is cool. I hope this will be a nice and lenghty story. With Michael in his current situation, it's definitely going to take time for him to open up.

Only thing is, I think it's going to take me a minute to warm up to Jenna's character. She's kinda stiff lol., so I hope to see more of her personality shine through.

And yay for you loving gifs :D Someone after my own heart.

More soon <3

Author's Response:

Hello MichaelBeMine!!! :) :) How are you?

I have been plagued from this very event walking through the airport, hungry but wanting to make sure I know exactly where my gate is!  I've nearly left my luggage in a hurry once or twice due to nearly being late because of my hungry stoomach so im gla you can relate to Jenna.  I tried to give a very relatable experience wwith Jenna, realism is something i Obsess with!

I consider your intense focus a compliment however I feel like that has a doble edged sword.  While detail can be exceedingly beautiful, sometimes there can be quite too much, and i feel as though I was really walking that line this chapter, so I understand completely what you mean.  im glad though that it inspires yyou to add a bit more detailing into your own!  Bless! I love the fact I can inspire you to improve and add to your own story, I'm estatic!!

I didn't mean to garble your mind haha *smiles* I want his to be a relaxing expeirence for you, so I take your critisism to heart!  Yes this is an actual Novel for me, while it is fan fiction I do treat the rules of writing as if it were a novel so im glad you can appreciate it!! this will definately be a lengthy story!  I plan on it!!

Jenna is a very with held personality but I also take your comment on her being "stiff" we do need tto see more of her character and the more she interacts with Michael the more you'll see he uniqueness shine through!  these are just the very beginnings.  thank your honesty though!  I lov comments such as tthese!

Haha yay!! I'm glad you enjoy them as much as I!!

you have gotten me out of my silent reading once again, poor thing i would be doing the same thing not being able to look at mj in the face, his presence can do to anyone, and another great chapter from jenna's presective, a nice slow build up i like that their interaction was to the minium no crazyness just yet~. Another epic chapter, i will be commenting more often~.

.

.

.

i would be adding a gif of a wonder micheal if i knew how!, maybe u can perhaps help? cause i dont know how to add it to a comment XD.

Author's Response:

Hello Lorry!!!  *smiles* I absolutely love that this chapter has gotten you out of your silence once more!! Thank you for reviewing you alls feedback is deeply appreciated!  It's actually very true, I've witness and hear such things about ones presence and how it can nearly become overwhelming, you neve truely know how 'large' someone is until your brought within their world.  I'm glad that you enjoyed this!  I had a lot of fun writig it, I enjoy slow builds that makes readers feel nearly everything the characters go throuugh.  Yes their interaction was short yet powerful, the next chapter full blown interaction will be intersting to watch both distressed (in their own way) personalities bounce off one another.

Of course I can help you :) How shall I explain: at the bottom when leaving a review, there is a box below that houses different text options, such as Bold, Italics, different paragraph styles and you'll see right next to what looks like an anchor, it's the image of what looks to be a "Tree".  You then find your gif and right click to copy the link from the image, and come back tot his box and click that image next to the "anchor"

once you've clicked the image circled above,  paste your image link in the first box entitled 'image URL' and finish by clicking insert.  It's just like adding an image here :)!  I am not the best at explaining things Miss so you'll have to forgive me hopefully I helped.

I just watched the Bashir docu. Wow I can see how people could think he's fucking weird. He's depicted as being this emotionally immature, possibly autistic, arrogant, reckless, spoiled very wealthy brat stuck in the body of a man. I can tell that's not who he is. the problem with it is that its too much like a reality tv show. And as lady gaga said once he's not kim kardashian he's an artist. He does not make money off of publicizing his every day life like Kim does. I did love how he described writing music though like DAMN. He's extraordinary and acts like its the easiest thing in the world. I started watching Maury's the footage you weren't meant to see wow so many of the questions Bashir asked were taken out of context to be put together to make Michael look like a child molester. He should have said lent my bed, etc. having sleepovers with children who are not related to him was a bit too ambigious of a situation and he should not have admitted to doing that. I get why if you miss out on a lot growing up, you compensate for it later. That's really what he's doing. Love that you loved my suggestions. Your internal dialogue is detailed without being overwhelming or boring. I love it personally just because you get a better sense of the story, the character's motivations, thought processes etc. yours on michael though, it's like your pyschic or something. I've just never seen someone actually depict the human imperfect side of him so accurately and beautifully. He is very much an introvert used to having to figure out things on his own by living inside his own head. Can't trust anyone but yourself. I think that the saying fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me is applicable here as he's not accepting that maybe you're just letting toxic, greedy leeches into your life who will tell you what you want to hear not what you should hear. He unfortunately can afford to keep those who tell him yes and get rid of those who tell him no. He should have taken more control over the interview what got put in where to put it etc. just being more proactive. He's smart for setting more boundaries with Jenna, taking the press out of it, and just letting her get to know him. also it would be interesting to heat the internal dialogue of someone's perception of michael at this point, like how he looks more exhausted or maybe from Tom's point of view. Just a thought. From someone other than jenna. Olivia Pope's real life inspiration is Judy Smith she worked for monica lewinksky. She was a fixer, kept their buisness out of the headlines. I feel like that's Jenna's job i mean they think she can perform the impossible able do a miraculous turn around on his career and public image. That has to take work from him as well.

Author's Response:

Haha I wrote out this review and the site decided to loog me out!  Grrr!  Bu anyhow!! Hey there Fire!!!!!!! Im glad you came back for another review!!Wow was it the story that made you watch the documentary or was it just you induldging in your past time?  It is very true you are right  The documentary is great for those who desire to see the man behind the music and a revelation of his every day life. yet when you compare LWMJ and TFYWNMTS you get a chance to see how cunning Bashir really is and how he patched things together to exploit and make him out to be the descirotion that you mentioned.

Very true when it comes to the celebs of old versus the ones we see today.  Today there is a lot of nonsense in the mainstream nowadays et it is very true extrodinary is the word Id use as well.

When it comes to he wording that should have been used, yes you were very right, he shoiuld have used that terminology correctly, however when you have an innocent mind, you think and say whats on your mind with a lean innocent thought path.  Never did he ever im sure thing it would return to be something placed against him.

I was actually worried that the internal dialogue was becoming mundane or repetitve however im so glad that you love it!  and oh my god, psychic *BLUSHES* I'd love to think that what is written through the gates of my mind are what actually were depicted in reality.  That would have been an amazing insight yet an extremely painful one.  However I am so glad that you find the way I execute my work to be that accurate!  You have no idea how happy that makes me.

". I've just never seen someone actually depict the human imperfect side of him so accurately and beautifully."

My god you have me blushing over here and grinning from ear to ear!!

I never would have thought this tsry would have quite the impact that it does.  i'm honestly floored, but most impotantly what sticks out if the amount of love that you all have for not only the story but for me as an author and I can't tell you how estatic I am!  I was terrified this story wouldn't be taken very well but you all proved me very wrong and im so glad for every review like these and all others! so thank you for that! (I have such deep appreciation that you all appreciate this story)!

When yo mention about Michael having to really think things through on his own merit, I believe you are correct based on the fact I felt no one really had his genuine heart inn mind so now he's had to figure out things on his own.  I feel like this is definately insight to how things would be if there was a chance to a second interview.  I actually enjoy your suggestion about things coming form the point of T. Mez.  That hasn't exactly been accomplished n a story before and is a very fresh idea.  I will have that in the back of my mind for upcoming chapters so thank you for that! :) :) I think it would e entertaining to see how the trial affects not only Michael yet those round him.

I definately need to watch scandal, I thin I know how im spending he rest of my night haha!  Thank you so much Fire fo your amaing review  I hope you cotinue to join us on this "heat of dialogue" as you put it, and emotions throughout the story!  this is only the beginning!

I had been seeing this story pop up a couple times and I finally decided to add another story to my reading list and I'm glad I did. Your strength here is embodying Michael's voice in this. It all feels so real to me like maybe you were there because its more than just oh i googled the trial, its like you've got the inner workings of his mind during this time down to a science, only a handful of stories based in this  dark era have managed to capture it. Great job.

So Jenna originally rejected him back in '93?Hmm well alot can change in 12 years I guess.

I was only a child during the Bashir interview so i thought it was amazing to see my favorite superstar climbing trees and singing ho ho ho green giant. haha Memoriesss..btw totally teared up thinking about it.

But anyways, happy I gave this a chance and I can't wait for more <3 you have gained another fan darlin

Author's Response:

Wow, you all know how to show a new Author an abundance of love dont you?  This is why the MJfam is a community of love.  thank you for showing me that!

I am BEYOND thrilled that you decided to take a chance on my literature and actually enjoyed it!  I am always estatic when I see a new reader!  It lets me know there are more heading on this journey with me, so exciting lol!

Wow this is a huge compliemnt to feel as though his inner being down to a science I think that is one of the most humbling comments I could ever recieve! Thank you so much for feeling as though the accuracy was spot on! I do try very hard to ensure it's realism for you all!

Jenna did reject lol she wasn't as experienced as she is currently, so taking on nearly the same psoject as current would have killed her career she thought.  Now if you notice there is a confidence about her, and a curosity that was never quenched since that time.

Aww, I understand about LWMJ, it was great for the youth like you who just wanted to see him in any caacity, it just sucks horribly currently knowing what a ploy that interview was, I still despite it's negative facts can appreciate it now!

THank you so so much for checking this out and absolutely enjoying it!  I'm working through the next chapter hopefully you all will enjoy this pivotal moment!

hopefully you'll buckle u with us, MichaelbeMine :) :)

I have to add that I really love your writing style. I appreciate it a lot because it bears a resemblance to my style of writing. We both have a lot of internal dialogue so we depict emotional states very well. I love a look at what's happening on the inside of a character. You get to know them and be a part of their world more seamlessly. So Kudos to that!! <333

Author's Response:

(I have an unhealthy love of Gifs, ahem)

Ahh!! Hello Again! I have to atualy agree with you!  I absolutely appreicate the writing stye you embody as well because they are very similiar, I actually was pleasently surrised while reading Brown Eye's Blue.  Internal dialog especially in first person is so essential!  I have always perfer this method.  Im such an emotional creature that in writing, I crave to fel every single bit of the characters I read and or become attched too.  It's so true becoming enveloped in their world is so much easier that way!! Thank you for appreciating the very thing that makes this story! and I return those Kudos for being so well versed in penmenshi as well! *hugs*

Poor Micheal, i just want to be there for him..Thanks for writing another impressive chapter!, I am one of your silent readers lol, keep going i love the way you write it is different, a nice change for me to read on this site.

Author's Response:

Ahhh! A new reader! *beams ear to ear*!!!!!  You know I'll start off by saying thank you so very much!  If this chapter was enough to break your hidden silence I must be doing something right!! The emotions are indeed heavy!  It is painful writing such details but I feel like it's a window into what may have been. I'm glad to envoke such emotions in you though even if the story's circumstances are unfortunate!

I'm glad you appreciate my writing style!  Because it was so different had me worried about it's reception!  But I am overwhelmed by the love shown, cant tell you how happy I am! I'm just glad I can be refreshing!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts Lorry.  Glad to have those who speak and those who are silent <3

First inwould like to say my chest hurt the whole time I was reading. It felt full to the brim of mucus and hurt like I had been hacking to try and break it up and dispel it. Lol in short I was feeling what Michael was feeling that whole time sitting there. You're depiction of his emotional state is so on point.

I too am hoping this isn't just a notch in Jen's belt or to spice up what seemed in the moment as dry spell for good stories.

I don't know if I'm the only one that kind of still enjoyed that interview. Though spliced to cut him deep we still got a piece of him. He was so awesomely facetious with some of his retorts to Batshit. It made me chuckle. If you watch closely he was so through with him and his questions at some points. Batshit was so elementary in his interviewing style. Basic and unmoving. But Michael lent an air of authenticity that couldn't be denied.

The editing and the voice over however was the stab in the back. I'm glad Michael pulled his card.

I was excited to see the update. More soon! <333

Author's Response:

I hope it was everything you were excited for lol!!!

Actually yes, I have come to enjoy that interview, and I can now appreciate it based on the faact that I know "Bashit" as you so amazingly put it (I just laughed aloud) was false in his display of Michael but I Enjoyed being a part of that authentic creation on Michael's end.  You are so correct, I think it was caught on quickly that Bashir was trying to pawn Michael into a corner, he was annoyed.  Stupidity isn't accepted well by him haha!

Jen is Jen, I feel as though coming up for their initial meeting which is next up you'll get a a chance to se =e during her time as a ournalist shes bruitally honest, he's hopefully not another notch but an accomplishmet. Shes so curious about him!

im glad you could appreicate the details of the sickness he'd contracted.  I can only imagine how much more miserable it'd made events.  and truthfully so during that time being ill must have been hell. I'm also thankful and happy you feel as though the emotional stance was accurate! <3 that makes me an exceptionally happy Author lol!!

im so glad you were excited!  I was excited to bring it to you all!!!

get ready haha next chapter is the long awaited interaction between the two.
