Taking his mother was hard for him especially since he couldn't conjure the appropriate emotions to even shed a tear. He just took her from her pain. Ohhhh you already know my love for Nina so the first chance I got to use Sinner Man I took it and ran with it. It would be interesting to hear that song sung with Michael's vocals. It would have been beautiful so you know he was giving an award worthy performance. Lmao. This chapter was to show how acclimated he is to being the reaper. Took me three days, but finally I got to read this properly! I loved it. When I read the narrative part, it takes me to like... 1950s; even some of the language, lol.
" That was a lot of scratch back then."
I just hear a 1950s Italian gangsta narrating it, similar to something I'd have heard in Scarface or Good fellas...
I really like this story, Tut, its so engaging and the writing is just the right amount of description without becoming too flowery. I hate flowery writting...makes me roll my eyes and think, get to the damn point.
Mena is a different kind of seductive evil. I don't like her even though I'm obviously not supposed to like her. I'm wondering what kind of thing she's putting in to place -- is she going to conspire to get him killed so she can have all his dollars, or is it going to be accident?

I have to look up the Regina version. I love that song to peices. The original was written I. 59 by Jaques Brel. I just love Nina's version because she makes it sound so soulful and it pulls you in.
Yeah I tried to get the lingo from the time down. And even though Michael is narrating from the present he's still very much that 40's dude.
I love setting the scene but you don't have to know every little detail. He picked up the brush he put down the brush it fell blah blah blah. Just enough to make you feel in the moment.
Mena has her agendas and they will come out in the next chapter. You'll just have to wait to see the how and why lol.<333
