I love how you’re subtle in revealing the concerns, the problems, and the mental state of the characters. Like when Micheal says, “Just about anything would be an improvementâ€, I was like, Jesus, you captured his personal feelings about himself so freakin’ well.
This is it. This fic is literally the BEST MJ fic I have ever read. The pacing and the characters are so well done and Omigod, so realistic. Nothing feels forced or anything. I just love Julia. She’s literally the best OC character anyone has created in an MJ fic. She’s so real, she’s so logical, and she can be petty and feel embarrassed about it and whatnot. And the best part is that her life does not revolve around MJ! Like, yes, finally some side characters like Janelle and Harry are huge part of her life and priorities and not just MJ! I really enjoy reading how she’s struggling on balancing her “normal†life while simultaneously trying to include MJ in it. Thank you for the slow-burn I feel has started (I have a personal preference for slow burs XD)
I also love how you’ve captured MJ’s character, especially his personal problems. Literally I’ve found no one else does, but I love how you decided to keep in timeline with the 80s timeline and actually incorporate the problems he was facing mentally and physically, especially with having vitiligo and his self-image. Also, he seems so real and MJ-like: sweet, insecure, bit childish, and just wanting a friend.
I know I’m in the early chapters of this fic, but thank you so much for writing this! Oh man, if you have recommendations for other MJ fics, please lemme know because based on your writing, it seems like we have really similar tastes in MJ fics.
