I'm crying buckets here!! Well done to Michael for not going down the physical route with Joseph but hitting him wherte it would hurt harder.
You know honey - you hit the nail right on the head when you said about someone like Joe having a son like Michael. Michael deserved so much better, and no matter what he said to Oprah or the media, I bet he still hurt over what Joe did to him when he was a child. I know about verbally and emotionally abusive fathers - it's not something I'm in the mood to go into but at times I relate to Michael and I understand why he did what he did - the surgeries and whatnot. I know where he was coming from, I know his pain because I've been there. Having 30 years of clinical depression as a result of abuse and being diagnosed as bipolar has made a lot of things clear to me. I get angry when people criticise Michael, they don't know how much he hurt and what he went through, how he felt and how painful it was. I do. Every single shard of pain, I understand it. I just wish he'd had a happier life than what he was given.
