Whoa, well damn; I'd say they're about to get busy lol. The Grammy's was set up for him to lose that year, I think. "Thriller" had about 10 nominations while "Bad" only had 4 or 5... that makes no sense, mostly because Bad was more diverse. But I digress, he won with that performance anyway. Moving on, I find it very sweet that he skipped a party and went straight to her house to see her. Just hope that if they do make love, it won't be a mistake that hurts them.

ITA about Michael's Grammy snubs in '88! I also think that he should have been nominated for way more awards than he was in '89 too. Singles from Bad were still hitting the charts up until that year! Grrrr. lol

It sucks they had to let each other go, but it seems like it may be the best option for both of them. He's busy, she's busy and they don't have the time or energy to give to a fully devoted relationship. Maybe in time they can give it another try... Great chapter, as always!

It's a funny thing that you mention the race thing. I was *cough cough* years old when Thriller came out lol and I remember there was a magazine named Right On Magazine. Idk if they are still around or not but anyway, I remember me and my friend went to a little corner store to buy a Right On mag. that had Michael on the cover. I am a black female btw so when I give the checkout girl my $, she looks at me says, "That n****r aint gonna last long." I remember being shocked and my was too. Mind you, Motown 25 happened like a week or so AFTER this incident.Enough of my rambling lol.
I love this story girl. She gave Dirty Diana another meaning lol. She went off on that man and I dont blame her. And everything she said was true. Cant wait for more

She's overreacting, a little. Yeah, initially she can be angry but after he explains how many "Diana's" there are out there, that he knows, she should let it go. Maybe it was her frustrations towards their distant relationship that had her getting overly upset about the song. Great chapter

Yes, I agree. She got really upset, but a lot of her anger stemmed from her frustrations with their relationship and other things going on at the time. Michael is a little guilty as well. Deep down, he had a feeling she would flip out and that's why he kept the song from her for so long.

I also don't want to make Diana a "damsel-in-distress" but I wanted to let her be a little vulnerable.

Love this story. I just read all 8 chapters in a row... I was hooked I guess. I've always liked to hear people's perspective on what 'really' happened with "dirty diana," especially since Michael basically ended the song with a huge cliffhanger. This take on it is awesome, and I've really enjoyed reading so far. Can't wait for the next part!
