Michael’s POV:
We had went home from Florida, and it was the next day. We were going to meet later by her place, because I hadn’t seen her home yet.

I woke up in my bed with the knowledge that I was all alone at home.
I smiled and sat up, all alone.
Sometimes, loneliness could be one of your biggest enemies, but sometimes it’s just a blessing.
Like in this moment for example.

I put on some slippers and went out in the hallway, thinking of Kate.
I was about to go downstairs, when I heard grubbing coming from some drawer.
I wasn’t alone at all.

A male voice groaned, and I could recognize it wasn’t any of my brothers, or my fathers.
So I started looking around upstairs, went into Randy’s room and picked up an old baseball bat he had standing against his wall. I picked it up in my hands.

Slowly, careful and very silently I sneaked down the stairs. The grubbing came from the kitchen.
I heard how our refrigerator opened up, because it makes a bussing sound.
I sneaked up to the doorframe, and stopped there. What was my thought here? I didn’t want to hurt the burglar, but yet, I was afraid and didn’t want to get robbed.

-“Oh hey Mike..”

I swung the bat in front of me as I saw a man standing a bit away from the door with a spoon and a pudding in his hands. It didn’t hit him, but it was pretty close.

-“Whoa, Michael, what the hell?!!” The man said in a squeaky voice.

It was Prince.

-“Oh, I’m so sorry Prince. I thought you were a creep or something.” I said, relieved it was just him.
I moved on from the subject.

-“What are you doing here anyway?”

Prince went over to the open fridge and took out a milk cart.

-“Well, I heard you were going to be alone all day. So I figured I could stop by and hear how it’s going with that girl.” Prince said and closed the fridge.

I nodded, without anything to say. I didn’t want to drive him out of the house, but I would enjoy some me-time.

Prince brought up the milk cart to his mouth and drank right out of the box.
I wrinkled my nose in disgust while I watched him wipe his mouth afterwards.

-“I don’t want to come off as rude, but you do know that you don’t live here, right?” I said and raised an eyebrow.

Prince looked at me, confused, then at the milk cart, and then back at me with a tired look.

-“Are you THAT afraid of my bacteria?”

-“No, not your bacteria. I’m afraid of the bacteria those drunk poor girls you make out with have.”

-“I brush my teeth here and then you know.” He said and put the milk cart back in the fridge.

-“Yeah, one time a year. And then you use teeth bleach to keep them white and a stick to get food out from there.”

I could tell how Prince got uncomfortable. We both sat down by the table and he started eating on the pudding he had taken.

-“So, what happened with that girl? Did you find her? What did you say?” Prince asked.

-“Yeah, I did. I went down to Florida and just told her that I love her.”

Prince choked.

-“YOU told her that you LOVE her?!”
-“Yeah?”
-“Oh my god Michael, you can’t say that. You should have saved that sentence when it gets more serious and you’re in some REAL trouble. Like, if you cheat on her, THAT’S when you use it.”
-“Look, I’m not listening to you anymore; you told me I was in some kind of friend zone, and look where I’m at now. I’m her boyfriend.”I said and rose from my chair. I started walking out of the kitchen before he would continue nagging on how I did everything wrong.

I went upstairs again, without eating breakfast, and went into the shower.

Kate’s POV:
“Pretty young thing…… UH! Pretty young thing…. *panting*”
I couldn’t help but giggle. That part of the song had always been kind of funny to me.
“Pretty young things, repeat after me… sing Na na na.”
Every time I was alone and listened to that song, I used to sing along to that.
But right now, since I was out on my morning jog, it wasn’t a good idea.

The music was in my ears, coming from my headphones and I was out of breathing too.
And it would be kind of strange if someone saw a jogging girl passing by singing “Na na na” randomly out of nowhere. I was back at home, in desperate need for water.

I unlocked the door, and stepped inside.
While filling a glass with ice cold water, I saw that I had gotten a voicemail on my home phone from yesterday. Michael had called me like crazy on both my phones, but I had checked all of those voicemails out already. This was probably from somebody else. I pressed in that I wanted to listen.

-“Beeep. Hey Kate” It was Eric.
-“I just wanted to say, some guy was sitting by your porch and had been sitting there for hours when I passed by. He was waiting for you, I talked to him, and he seemed nice even though he looked pretty weird.”

I couldn’t help but giggle, Michael had been wearing his silly disguise.

-“Anyway, I hope I didn’t do anything wrong when I told him where you were. I just told him your uncle’s name and he went crazy over it. He had been looking for you all over, and tried to call you. I hope he’s not a creep or anything…”

Michael had never told me how he knew where I was at. But if he had been dying to get in contact with me, and tried his best, that was just so sweet.

-“
I don’t know if he ever got to you, but I sure hope so if he is a nice person. I didn’t tell him the address because I didn’t know it myself, but he ran home so I think he looked it up.”

So Michael had been waiting outside my house for hours, looking all over the place, calling me like three hundred times on each phone, searched up the address, went on a flight to get there, came up to the house at night and surprised me by my window?

-“I would like to know how it went, who he was, if you’re okay. I know you’re home by now. That’s all I wanted to say. Bye. Beeeep”

I sighed to myself, thinking of how lucky I was. I had gotten a friend that actually cared about me, and I had the best boyfriend in the world.

I went to my computer and started it. I was just going to check some emails and stuff, but as fast as I went to the start page, something popped up as “news”.

“MICHAEL JACKSON’S SECRET GIRLFRIEND, REVEILED.”

My mouth parted and I got pretty shocked. Where they talking about… me?
I pressed the link and it took me to another site. There was a picture of me and him outside of studio 54, the one that had been in the press earlier. I started reading the article.

“An exclusive interview with some friends of hers and some pictures has lead into that we all know who the secret girlfriend of Michael Jackson’s is.
It’s not a celebrity; it’s not someone we know from before. It’s a former ghetto girl called Kate Summers.
We met up with Summers friends, Rose, Karen and Leslie on Thursday evening.
“We first met her when she got here. By then, she was just a normal person with a normal life.”
“She’s doing commercial for a living, but of course, now when she’s with Michael, she’s probably using his money.” Two of the girls said and laughed. They seemed nice, and they also told me some personal things about Kate Summers.
“She hates her parents. Her mother is a stripper and her father is doing drugs. She only had us in her life, but now when she’s got Michael, she left us all alone.” The blonde girl said.
“Isn’t that betrayal, leaving her friends for a boyfriend?” I asked them all. And they all agreed it was.”

I stopped reading, how could they do this to me? They made me seem like a bad guy.
I didn’t want fame at all, and now I was going to get the bad side out of it, the haters!
There were pictures of me on the site too. My identity was exposed… I felt so… naked.
While reading this, I knew that my life out of the public eye was over.
I was lucky my house wasn’t smashed already. I had to get out of here before it was filled with paparazzi and Michael’s fans.

Michael’s POV:
-“Michael! Someone is knocking on the door!” I heard Prince yell.
It must be someone the guards recognized, otherwise the person wouldn’t be let in.

I ran downstairs, and opened the door. Prince was still in the kitchen.
It was Kate.

-“Michael, I’m screwed!”

-“What happened?” I asked, confused. I let her in and closed the door behind her.

-“Do you have a computer around?” She asked. I raised an eyebrow.

-“Yeah, sure… why?” I said and we went up to my bedroom.

She sat on my bed, she seemed unhappy. I started the computer and I sat down beside her.

-“Is it terrible?” I asked.

She shrugged her shoulders.

-“Probably.”

When the computer had loaded, she opened an article and let me read it.
I gasped. Those were her former friends who went out with this, how could they be so mean?
Did they know what would happen by now? She couldn’t be a normal person anymore, she was going to be looked at everywhere and her personal life was over.
I felt terrible for her. I didn’t want her into this, not at all. I just wanted to be with her.

-“Kate… there are two options in this situation that will keep you protected. And the most important thing is to keep you safe.”

-“Okay… thank you, tell me the options.” She said.

-“Either, you break up with me.”

She gasped.

-“Or, you move in here.”
