Gotta love fiction. In real life it would be so legally complicated and convoluted with French bureaucratic red tape!! The orphanage is worried about getting in trouble for violating a regulation & having 1 kid too many but not worried about getting in worse trouble for handing a kid over on a whim to a pop star & his gf who are unrelated to the child with no legal custody or guardianship and who will be taking the kid out of the country right away.? They coukd get charged with child trafficking themselves! And what happens a borders? They need to get Mathieu listed on a passport.
Mikes legal team better get on this! ;-)
But that's the fun of fanfic. Writers can put modern technology into the 1980s or just sweep aside real life complications . They get to rescue the kid from the abusive papa and it provides possibilities for the story, Liv showing a maternal side , Michael relating Matthieu's abuse to his own abusive father....
I was thinking maybe the horrible papa shows up at the orphanage trying to get the kid back, saying the mom is delusional!!
Sorry. I can't help thinking this or that bit wouldn't happen when i read fanfic. But dont take it too harsh, I'm just playin ... I really am enjoying the story. :-) I wrote another comment that disappeared when I switched tabs. I'll try to redo that one.
