Wow. This was so sad. Poor Natalie and Michael! This story reminded me of "Small Bump" by Ed Sheeran. If you haven't heard the song you should listen to it. It's beautiful(well, anything by Ed Sheeran is beautiful!) You really captured the sadness and the feeling of loosing a child. And I love the part where you added Michael's quote "If you come into this world knowing you are loved and leave knowing the same, everything inbetween can be dealt with". That's my favorite quote of Michael's. It's so powerful It's been so relevant in my life. This was an excellent one shot and I hope to see more writings of yours!
