My understanding was always that it was Ani's goal to figure out a way to have RPs here. That she started her return by creating a "RP" category, supports that.

I think the largest point against RPing on MJF in general is that people push boundaries. You may not, but you are also in the minority. We see that with the minors who've repeatedly lied, the fact that people are still posting "kik with me" posts, and ignoring the category rules that Ani has posted. Who would have the time to monitor all the RPs? Think about how many posts people had in RPs alone - one would need multiple admins solely focused on RPs, to track everything. Then, still, people post their kik and email for RPing offsite. I'm under the impression that it is primarily the actions that have occurred since the closing of the RPs that have made it less plausible to bring them back.

the part about the rp having lots of post--that's a strong point..I know it is a lot for RPers who do so some of them tend to say no more than around 10 or so

I meant give up roleplay as I once did since there were not a lot of people I enjoyed roleplaying with because they were too demanding, for one thing.

My intention was originally to reintroduce RPs to the site in one way or another, however the more I discovered and the more I looked into it all, the more I realised it is simply not viable. There is no actual age imput on users profiles, so no way to lock underage users out, and as has been proved over and over, people are willing to lie to keep up behaviours that are legally, morally and ethically not OK. 

This is a fanfic site, and it should be about that, but I did want to give you guys a way to RP here and keep that. But my hands are tied. There is no way to police it. 

The reason there was no rules in place about RPing at the time it all started could have been one of many: Admins and Mods not paying close enough attention to realise what was actually going on, or even not being around enough to notice that RPs had basically taken over the site.

If you honestly believe that I was trying to trick you into thinking something that would not happen was happening, then that is your perogative, but I assure you I wasn't. Events forced my hand, such as the blatent lying of members to my face about their ages. 

I've said it before and I will say it again: I have NO back of house access to this website, so I cannot make any big changes to the system. My priority is to do the best I can with the limited resources I have to ensure the safety of everyone on this site.

oh ok..I remember you saying that you needed the back of house access..was also offering you an alternative solution that a few of the RPers had used to ensure that the minors don't engage in what they shouldn't be as surely at least some would listen to you if not the actual host as some of them have enough sense to not defy someone in that manner who could kick them off the site in an instant...you know, just in case you didn't get the help from brokensmile...you know, something basic..and would set boundaries too

And yes I understand this is a fic site and the focus was on that..hence why I agreed RP should have a section/category of its own..it's the same thing I did for my forums I was active in running that were not RP focused but a community for one of my favorite shows. had made boards just for RPing and people who liked it could make their own ..and I am someone who currently reads, writes and roleplays. 

about saying I felt tricked, thinking clearly and reading your post I understand that your intention was not to do that..was upset with myself for getting excited too soon that both sides would be happy and I trusted that you would set the rules accordingly after seeing minors who couldn't follow rules...as well as to get rid of the liars. the lying disgusts me just as much..just like any other time minors manipulate so they could do what they shouldn't be..and was stunned because my suggestion that I know has been effective with preventing immoral acts in the RPs wasn't looked at as a good option.and I could name a few who did their best to make sure minors didn't engage in what is immoral  

But know that I accept/respect your decision and I will be able to adjust in time..not my intention to give the impression I didn't..

85%... I wanna fix things up in my rp. Serious rules..generally the age limit thing. And plus, can I talk this out? I understand those who don't like rp cuz it recks up mike's real personality n stuff. But hell... have ya heard of acting?? I got interest in making stories with mike's 'alter egos'. The criminal, the seductive dancer (BOTD), the womanizer (TWYMMF), ect. It's just playing pretend not tormenting his real self! And also the thing bout minors involve sexual things. Lets get real, look at this generation in this world.. teen moms, 14 yr olds dressing up like hookers. They're crazy with their hormones! I understand that topic is sensitive with mike but sweet god.. just dont make it as if its involve the world outside fandom (eventho it is but dont make the public know it)

I am trying but I am still feeling that sadness that one feels when they used to look forward to new episodes/seasons of their favorite series and they start crying once the episode ends..that's how I feel.Adding rules is a great idea because I told Angelina to do the same thing. 

And yes definitely..there are plots that would make Michael himself if he were here and his family want brain bleach..and I am with you with the minors thing as well although the same thing happens in fics as well yet people turn a blind eye to both bad characterization and minors writing sexually explicit stuff happening in fics..I am more than old enough to do the really kinky stuff in rps but I choose not to..refuse to do plotless sex or too much sex in my plot even at age 29..and I generally prefer Michael as his sweet, softspoken sensitive self (with the exception of those times it's ok to bend the rules) and I try to keep both my fics and rp plots somewhat kidfriendly so it's not fair for haters to generalize.
