This whole chapter got me so sad, the emotions and how michael still managed to even sitll go to the trial even in all that pain? i have never read the story behind what happened that day or anything related back to the accusations because I don't want to but reading it though her eyes lets me have an insight of what happened that day leading to court day and that snivelling tom stupid flipping idiot!
*calms down* I just wanted to help him and give him a hug like a nice long hug and be there, goodness he needed one in that time of his life!
in that moment, the judges and all his haters need to be slapped!!

Wow, I am blushing! Thank you so so much!!! haha I read your comment over and over! I was hoping to envoke certain emotions like these! What an honor to have an author like yourself think this was not only wonderful but realistic, haha I felt like I've done my job!
Mmmm, from what I recall, he mtnioned getting out of the hower and falling and brusing his lung and having a swollen ribcage im going to try and find you an interview dipicting it. so I created the whole piece around that and a few pieces from the transcripts Tom and Melville for exact spoken wording; the rest as far as detailing I just tried my best to bring it life. :) :)

I love the little details of how they interact and your descriptions of their nervous, telling mannerisms as they speak about these very difficult topics. They seem to portend to a strong sexual attraction. ;)
When did Jenna realize that Michael is innocent? And commit herself to being on his side? Was there a pivotal moment that I may have missed?

Haha see when you have the mind of a writer suh a yurself your able to equate why I place in the small details, why I have the characters pay attention to the small details because we as humans we do that especially if we re trying to assess someone. I think that'll come a it stronger in the next few chapters! intimacy will be interesting to say the least!
You really do pay attention! I left out that small detail for th next chapter Jenna is someone who in the chapter isn't exctly on Michael's side she just greatly dislikes Sneddon for his attitude and demeanor. She has an unbiased opinion coming in and viewing the situation as a whole and even through the transcripts Sneddon was so haughty nd superior he thought he had it in the bag. She doesn't care for that lol Honestly watching a human being suffer n the court room like that, it gave way to some deep thinking which I do bring up little later!

So sad for him :( Her too because she's caring about him and doesn't realize it yet. Things are going to get so rough for both of them.
I'm guessing you read the court transcripts? I have them too and I just started reading them, but I can't even beleve how biased the judge was in Sneddon's favor. And the length and ridiculousness of his opening statement - it was one long obscenity and I was furious!
Sorry, ranting, lol. But you described the first trial day amazingly. Did you use any other sources for information about the actual trial itself?

Hey there!!!!! :D :D, that is so true, she is coming to realize that her feelings are crossing over slightly subconscious just viewing him on a human level going through such a nightmare, being sucked into it as well has to take an immense toll on them both!
You are correct! Yes I had. I merely took only what was said the rest is from imagination. I had to figure out how to bring it to life. Very interesting viewing in your own minds eye as to what that day might have been like. Emotionally taxing for sure. Sneddon's opening was unfounded and ridiculous. I agree a thousand percent!

It's a very painful chapter :( extremely sad it's nothing like nearly being ripped from your children and they not having a father figure based on greed and the love of money :(
very true, as do I and sometimes you cannot help but too. There's a certain genuine raw emotion that comes from children. When there is pain, it's in its rawest form. Bless your seven year old, this would definitely be very kindred then. *hugs*

I think you tapped into his emotions very well. It's such a sad thing to realize how he must have been feeling and what the experience was like for him.
I've read a lot about the trial and I started reading the court transcripts, and I really don't feel like judge Melville was fair to him at all during the process. It was like he let Sneddon get away with murder and he put all kinds of limits on Mesereau :( Then there was that whole "I'm going to put you in jail if you don't get here in 20 minutes, I don't care if you're injured!" So effed up! Right?

the Judge was indeed not fair at all, he was seemingly biased from the start. this story is definately one of the more painful stories i've written. It' coiencdental that you mention that piece from March 10th aka Pajama Day, it was disgusting how careless the judge was. I think you'll be interested in the upcoming chapter! thank you for giving sucha wonderful review! I really hope you continue reading :) :)

I remember the 1993 thing so vividly, it tore me apart. But I believed him completely after hearing him speak for just a few brief moments. I was like - there is no way he did this!

Myles in the very first few chapter she's indeed a worry wart, she knows this isn't the a normal interview, knows that this world is beyond her comprehension.
1993 was such a dark time, it was absolutely horrific. You knew it was absolutely raw emotional, truthful I just feel like any guilty party would have not have placed their heart entirely on the line as shown you know??
