Something else I should have mentioned last time is, while I prefer the OG, I steer clear of the ones where the author doesn't realize there's nothing wrong with shipping Michael with the OG while still portraying the real women in a fair manner..you know, well-rounded. I have seen the decent portrayal, though, and it's refreshing.

Alot of the points you put forth is why I don't like using women from his real life as the Main girls. They may appear as mentioned only characters or antagonists of some sort. Having an OG is much more freeing to write.

Author's Response:

Using an OG can make for a much more creative plotline IMO. The fewer chains, the more we get to see an author's imagination come to light.

and thank YOU for on touching on this..I try my hardest to stay true to every character even the ones I couldn't care less about..like the Arvisos in the fic I just updated a couple of days ago (Betrayed Trust)..went with what staff said about them and also what I could imagine them doing and also had them try to act decent for a bit though it didn't last..

Haven't had any of the women in Michael's life be protagonists in any of my fics (though Brooke makes a cameo in my first fic Unwavering Support)..don't know much about Tatiana so I can't comment on her..Lisa isn't my favorite but I don't hate her either..the way I see it is the fact that her living with the regret for not being appreciative enough and being consumed  by her anger/bitterness is more than enough punishment for her and I can see she has matured somewhat since those days she was 20-30 something..while it can be hard for me to forgive lots of times I feel I can forgive her in the sense that I don't feel any malice..so I become dumbfounded when people have thoughts about murdering/harming her..that wouldn't achieve anything positive..in regards to fics on her, it depends on how they're written..have read one where she is not the main girl but appears and makes amends with Michael properly..and a couple that explore certain possibilities during the course of the relationship..have become a bit weary of seeing her portrayed as an all out villainess in fics and feel that can get old quickly (although I can read it if believable)..especially when another possible antagonists.. comes to mind (besides the obvious ones) like Madonna..but I mostly like Michael/Original Girl fics too, although I'd like to see one with Princess Diana as a lover....

Author's Response:

Some fans can be extreme....I prefer OG fics as well. Both the author and the reader have greater degrees of freedom.

I use some of the women who were really in his lives as like past exes (stalkers) and such but I'd never write a story with him and one of the real ladies in his life at the main couple.

I can't really stand any of them except Tatiana. and that's probably because I don't know a thing about her besides she's gorgeous and seemed really sweet. The kiss? That girl just got caught up in the moment. I'm pro Tatiana, but probably wouldn't write about her because I don't really know that much about her, not that interested in researching her.

HOWEVER

The main thing that draws me to a fic is the PLOT. If the summary is well written and the plot seems unique and interesting I'll ready ANY story I don't care if the OG is Madonna's image and I hate Madonna. I agree Beyonce, Rihanna and so forth.. yeah their over used. But I almost passed up on Brandy's Gansta Lovin' because Beyonce was in it and when I finally decided to give it a try it became one of my favorite stories on the site. Since then I've stopped judging on the images.

Author's Response:

Plot is very important to me. The hardest thing for me, with canon characters, is that I don't get to color in the protagonist's appearance with my own imagination. I'm also alway stuck trying to compare the personality of the person the author portrays with what I know of the person's personality. Occupational hazard.

I almost passed on that that story as well. I'm glad I didnt. Still, I've separated the image of Beyonce from the story. Tbh in thinking of my all time favorite stories, only like... 1 has an image of the protagonist's face.
