I like this chapter, especially this part:

She did write to him. She was sure he’d probably never even see that letter, but she wanted to write it.

“Don’t be stupid!” her sister said. “They’ll probably throw it away before it even goes to him!”

“No they won’t” Iris insisted. Jane, her sister, kept spoiling her dreams, whatever those were.

“Fine, go make a fool of yourself” Jane said, but Iris wasn’t even listening. She’d already started writing…

Good for Iris that she knew what the truth was and she focused on that. :) And she had made up her mind to write to Michael even though her sister told her not to...
